Leatherneck Magazine: Charting Our Course

by Priscilla Schrubb on February 03, 2019

An exciting thing happened here at Popcorn Friday this month!  Dan and I were featured in an article in Leatherneck magazine, a publication of the Marine Corps Association & Foundation, which focused on Marine Corps veterans who have charted their own course after transitioning from military life to civilian life by opening and operating a small business.  What an honor! We invite you to take a look! Charting Their Own Courses

When Dan and I decided to retire to Bulverde, Texas and open Popcorn Friday, we only knew a few people.  We were certainly making our transition into unknown waters. However, we couldn’t be more happy settling into this area of the Texas Hill Country.  Our community embraced our family and our business with open arms, friendly smiles, and a warm, welcoming attitude.

In the Marine Corps community, there’s a bit of an unofficial motto that Marine families live by: Bloom where you are planted. We want to extend our deepest thanks to the people of the Bulverde and Spring Branch area for showing us what true hospitality is.  This community of strangers have become friends and extended family for us. Through your love, support, and friendship, Popcorn Friday has thrived and grown.
